All NBA fans know how amazing top tier players such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant are. However, other players are producing at a high level, but fail to gain the recognition that other big names athletes routinely acquire.
Hayward has been one of, if not the most, underrated player in the NBA for years now. Hayward is currently averaging 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists on 45% shooting. The lack of attention Hayward gets is likely because of the lack of media attention Utah gets.
Zach LaVine is known for winning two consecutive dunk contests, but that’s pretty much the only attention he gets due to previously playing as a 6th man. However, what if I told you he was currently averaging 20 points on 47% shooting? Zach LaVine is looking amazing despite being outshined by teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. If this production continues, the Timberwolves could have a legitimate big three on their hands.
The hype around Jabari Parker going into the NBA was insane. He was taken 2nd overall, compared to Carmelo, and even mentioned in the Childish Gambino track Late Night In Kauai. Unfortunately, his rookie season was cut short due to a torn ACL he suffered 25 games into the season. After the injury, the hype went away and people seemed to forget about him. Now in his 3rd season, Jabari is averaging 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists on 46% shooting. With continued improvement and production, the hype previously surrounding Jabari Parker should soon return.
Bradley Beal has been underrated throughout his career due to injuries. He has not played a full season once in his five year career, but when healthy, he is one of the best SGs in the NBA. Before his first major injury last year, Beal was averaging 23 points, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds while shooting 47% from the field. This year, he is currently averaging 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists on 44%. If healthy, Beal can give Washington their money’s worth from the massive contract he signed this offseason.
People tend to forget how impactful the former Defensive Player of the Year truly is. Gasol is 32 and still performing at a high level, averaging 20 Points, 6 Rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists while still being one of the best on the defensive end.
