What to expect for the 2017 NHL All Star Game

What to expect for the 2017 NHL All Star Game:

Obviously, this year’s All-Star Game was unforgettable, most of the credit going to the new format of the 3 on 3 tournament and the amazing story of John Scott.

But what should we expect for next year’s event?

This year’s all star game will be hard to follow up, but all eyes are on the NHL and people are wondering, can they top it?

3 on 3 Format:

As seeing the new 3 on 3 tournament format was a huge success, we should all expect to see this format stay for a long time. Not only was it popular with fans but it showcased more skills which provided even more entertainment. Previously in all star games goaltenders didn’t get glory, but in this game, goalies were needed and due to more open ice they got to show their goaltending skill more often.

Fan Vote:

It is no doubt that the fans loved the ability to vote, they showed it by voting the one and only John Scott in. But it is a big question if the NHL will keep this, the NHL was obviously trying to make it so John Scott couldn’t participate in the game, the big question is :Will they remove this privilege for fans to avoid any more trouble?

John Scott:

If the NHL does keep the fan vote, it is no doubt that they will want to vote in John Scott again, not only did he provide mass entertainment but he actually performed well, surprising everyone and winning All-Star MVP. So if the fan vote is kept, then we should all expect the return of John Scott.

Game Length:

The exhibition went on for a long time which was a problem for many fans. The championship game started almost 2 ½ hours after the first puck was dropped. I would suggest shortening the period lengths and shortening the times between games for next year’s event.
